COVID-19 Vaccine: Russia all set to register on August 12 and 3 more vaccines set for phase 3

Lights of hope started glowing, olden days will be back soon, news filled with happiness and hopes started coming. As per reports around the world Russia has confirmed that their COVID-19 vaccine is all set to register on August 12. Researchers and Scientists around the world are fighting day and night to produce Covid-19 vaccine, many are in initial phase and some made to the crucial third phase, which clearly specifies that this year we will have an end to COVID-19.


Russia to register first COVID-19 vaccine

In the middle of this increasing number of corona cases, a beam of hope coming from Russia. Many reports mention that Russia is all set to register their first Covid-19 vaccine next week. This vaccine is developed by Gamaleya Research Institute and the Russian Defence Ministry which will be registered on August 12. At this moment the crucial and important third stage is underway. The third stage is very important which marks that the vaccine is safe or not. Russia’s Deputy Health Minister Oleg Gridnev on Friday confirmed the news and added that once the vaccine is launched the first one to get vaccinated will be medical professionals and senior citizens. To ensure its safety and effectiveness the vaccine will be tested on about 1600 people. Russia informed that the mass vaccination will be started in the month of October. The news from Russia fills us with anticipation and we all hope to happen that soon.

Three Covid-19 vaccines are at final stage of testing

In these increasing number of corona cases around the world, Whole world is racing to create a vaccine for corona virus. There are about 100 companies at different phases of the trials out of which some of the results are very positive. The race will benefit whole world and we will be able to see a vaccine before 2020, some of the vaccines are showing excellent response, increasing immunity and having great response. Below are some of the vaccines which is in final stage of testing and showed great response and given positive results.

Pfizer-BioNTech enters phase II/III

Pfizer-BioNTech mRNA vaccine has shown great results in the initial clinical test and now entered the crucial final stage of testing. In the previous stage vaccine shown good response found strong and safe immune response with very low or no side effect. This is one of the four vaccines prototypes which were tested by the pharma giants. The initial trials are being carried out in around 100 centres in different part of USA and Germany. Next phase it will be testing around 30,000 volunteers and hoping to get regulatory license in October.


Moderna to phase III

US-based pharmaceutical major Moderna is also in phase 3, the vaccine candidate is an RNA based vaccine which will produce antibodies what will protect against Covid-19. The phase III was planned to begin in July 9 then moved to last week of July and will be testing in 30,000 volunteers. The phase II trial showed great response with very little or negligible side response like head ache. The company will be selling the vaccine at pandemic pricing making it more affordable.

Novavax to start Phase III in the month of September

Novavax will start phase 3 clinical test next month, the initial phase of trial showed great result. The antibodies  generated  by  vaccine is four times those developed by the people who recovered from covid-19 disease. In the initial trial Novavax vaccine showed only mild side effects like joint and muscle pain. Novavax is seeing to produce around 1.2 billion dose by next year. The US-based company has entered a supply and license agreement with Serum Institute of India for the development and commercialisation of its Covid-19 vaccine.

Oxford vaccine to phase III & Serum Institute will start trials in India next week

Oxford University partnered with pharma maker AstraZeneca is all set for phase three which will be conducted in countries like US, India and Brazil. As per reports the trials are going very well and positive results are coming. Some early studies have reported mild to moderate side effects in the early cases. Oxford vaccine will be marketed by Serum Institute of India as 'Covishield' and will start phase 3 in India by next week for nearly 1600 volunteers marking as the first to enter crucial trial in India.
