Total Injustice to Hathras victim and Denying Democratic freedom

Uttar Pradesh, the state where the Government is busy building RAM Mandir (temple) but no Sita is safe there. Uttar Pradesh is second most unsafe state for women with GVI ((Gender Vulnerability Index) of only 0.434 and rank at 29th position, Goa and Kerala at top and considered to be safe for women with respect to other states in India. Hathras gang rape was one of the many happening in Uttar Pradesh against Dalit by so called upper cast. Uttar Pradesh remains at the top of the list for violence against Dalit’s by so called or self called upper cast people followed by Gujarat.

Total Injustice to Hathras victim and Denying Democratic freedom
UP crime rate is one of the highest and according to the National Crime Bureau 12 rapes are reported per day and the truth is that there are many unreported or no action taken cases will be there.  Uttar Pradesh is a place where cows are safer than girls, UP government is busy in cow safety and development rather than the poor girls there.

Out of the 278 rapes recorded across the country, Maharashtra recorded the highest number of 47 cases, with two cases reported in Mumbai, followed by Madhya Pradesh (37) and followed by Uttar Pradesh (34).

All Indians got shocked and couldn't control their emotions after hearing the news from Hathras. Some so-called upper cast people brutally raped and killed a poor girl. The things which hurt the most is the attitude of UP Police, injustice to that girl. Even after death she denied the minimum respect she should get, no justice was given to that poor girl and this is not the first case from UP. When I heard about the incident in Hathras, the 2019 bollywood movie ‘Article 15’ came to my mind, if you have not watched the movie, have some time to watch, it will help you to analyse the incidents.

UP police claims that no rape in Hathras case, the young girl who was believed to be brutally gang raped actually died due to neck injury. Forensic reports say that no sperm was found in the test and she died due to neck break. UP police also claim that some people are trying to twist the matter to cast tension in UP.  Even the Supreme Court said that if a girl points to a person and says that he has raped her, then that word should be taken as prime evidence, but in Hathras case that is also denied. UP police is going to do a lie-detector test for the victim’s father, mother and brother. Totally injustice and democracy violation, no justice was provided to that poor girl or family.

What happened in Hathras?

Still the name Nirbhaya remains with tears in the heart of all Indians, now the Hathras gang rape has left the nation shocked.  The young girl was attacked on September 14 in Hathras in Uttar Pradesh which is 200km away from Delhi. She was gang raped by four boys from so called upper cast and as per the reports she is from Dalit community. In this village there is still the un touch ability and discrimination against lower community still exist and that too in prominent form.

The girl had multiple fractures and was in ICU for two weeks and she was moved to Delhi AIMS, but she died on September 29.  Some claimed the culprits broke her spinal cord and cut off her tongue during the brutal rape.

What happened in Hathras

Reports say that the girl along with her mother went to collect some fodder and the culprits dragged her by her dupatta and gang raped her.

On 14th September soon after the incident the victim’s brother rushed to the police station to lodge a complaint against one Sandeep, who attacked her sister, the victim girl also reported the culprit’s name.

UP police started investigating the case and after five days that is on September 19, Sandeep was arrested. Since the victim was not in a state to give her statement, the statement was taken on September 22, almost eight days after the incident.

After the death of the victim cases were taking against IPC section 302(Punishment for murder) and under SC/ST act. Monetary compensation of Rs 10 lakh will be given to the victim's family.

UP Police claims that there was no sign of any rape and also the tongue was not cut, her tongue came between her teeth and that’s how it got injured.

Injustice to Hathras Rape Victim

India is heating up with the protest against UP Police for denying injustice to Hathras rape victim. From the very beginning police seems to be very down with this case. From the first investigation UP police said that there was no sign of rape, but victim’s mother says that her daughter was unconscious and injured, her clothes were striped of and bleeding from private parts. Since the victim could not be taken to the police station in that situation, her mother covered her up. Supreme Court says that if a rape victim says that she was raped by any person, then that words should be taken into account.

UP Police cremated the body of the victim

Victim’s brother filed the case in the police station on the same day with the culprit’s name, but UP police took another time to file the case and after the death of the girl the case was registered with section 302 and SC/ST act. Police still claims that there was no sign of rape.

The victim's family alleged that she was not given proper medical care in Hathras and Aligail and was kept in the dark about her actual condition. Although we have no information about the treatment he received, we can really trust the second part. Physicians in India have become infamous for having too little conversation with patients and their relatives about the condition of patients.

Even after death no justice was provided to the victim even the basic respect was denied to that poor girl. All religions and caste in India have their tradition and custom while cremation, but that basic respect was also denied to that girl, still the reason behind this is unknown.

UP Police cremated the body of the victim in the dead of the night, while her family remained barricaded inside their house. No Indians can forget the crying face of her mother in front of the ambulance carrying her body, tears came to all of our eyes except the cops there.

The family said police intercepted them in their homes and did not allow them to see their daughter for last time and do cremation. However, police said that the victim performed the last rites as per the wishes of the family members. Public outrage spread as the country watched family scenes of her funeral. Opposition parties have launched a comprehensive attack on the government, demanding the resignation of CM Yogi Adityanath. Protests began in several parts of the country.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath on Friday, has suspended five police officers including SP of Hathras.  All officers involved in the Hatras case will have to undertake narco test and polygraph tests.

Denying basic fundamental rights

UP Police attacks on Rahul Gandhi

The right to peaceful democratic protest is virtually enclosed in the Constitution of Indian Democracy, which is increasingly under threat from the Modi government.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on the way to Hathras the family of  19-year-old Dalit womanwho  was the victim of murder and gang rape by some so called upper cast boys. Uttar Pradesh police first stopped Rahul Gandhi's cavalry and attacked him when he and his sister tried to go to Hathras. Rahul Gandhi committed no crime when he was attacked by Uttar Pradesh police. Rahul Gandhi did not try to oppose his attackers. UP police are denying basic fundamental rights of freedom.

UP police filed a case against  Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra under the Epidemic Act on Thursday, hours after they were detained on way to Hathras. The way UP police attacked Rahul Gandhi is extremely degrading manner, they even didn’t consider the position or the recognition he has. They even didn’t give the respect which should be given to a MP.

This is not any British force, it is Yogi's police to stop the opposition march

The police in the above picture is to stop the opposition from marching to Hathras, if these police were deployed for the safety of the state then this incident wouldn't have happen and the women there will be safe, no caste issues or caste fights.

UP police is acting like a personal mafia and in this democracy it is even not allowed to walk.

How can we react or Respond?

India is seeing mass protests all over the country, Hundreds of society members, women, students, political leaders, including chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, gathered at Jantar Mantar on Friday in a massive protest to demand justice in the Hathras case. In all states protests are taking place demanding justice for Hathras victims and also against injustice by UP police, protesters also demand resignation of CM Yogi Adityanath.

How can we react or Respond
The protest in social media is burning, the protest of hashtag (#) has begun and it's trending now. But just remember that India Reports 87 Rapes Per Day and in 2019 alone 4,05,861 cases were registered against women. It is good that Indian youths have concerns about these issues, they can realize what is wrong and what is correct, so it is the time for us to change the way we do the protest.

Most powerful tool in our hands is our vote, please think again and again before voting, the vote we put is the result of these leaders or ministers who never open their mouth against these incidents. Mark your vote as your protest. We want justice , we want new laws, we want new rules to stop these rapes, cast discrimination and attack against women, a government which passes rules to protect cows can’t pass any rule to protect our girls!. I am again repeating no Sita is safe here.
